Harleston's Future project set to bring mini mouse shops to town

An initiative backed by Harleston’s Future will see visitors to the town entertained by a series of miniature mouse shops.

Adding a dash of fun for visitors to the town, six local businesses have already agreed to have the miniature shop fronts placed on their doors or windows over the summer.

The mouse shops could even become a trail around the town once a few more businesses are on board, according Harleston’s Future’s Eileen Ryan, who came up with the idea.

“I saw something similar in Sweden a few years ago and thought why not in Harleston,” she said.

“It’s fun for the children and families visiting and encourages people to explore the town.”

Jo Shepherd, from Craftworks Cafe, is running a series of workshops for anyone who wants to be involved in making the miniature shops, the first of which takes place today from 2pm to 4pm.
