Harleston Round Table members ride out in style to Maastricht world meeting

A quartet of vintage moped riders have set off on a cross-channel trip from the home of a global organisation to its world meeting in Maastricht.

Harleston and District Round Table members Rob Vincent, Tom Banks, Jim Collins and Scott Stewart began their epic journey from the Louis Marchesi pub in Norwich, close to where it is said the Round Table was founded in 1927, on Wednesday.

The quartet, who are riding Hondas with a top speed of 28mph, are set to make it to the Round Table International meeting in the Dutch city by the weekend.

“Someone suggested going to the Round Table’s world meeting and we thought why not ride these Hondas there and make a little money for MensCraft by selling 200 moped pin badges we have had made,” said Mr Vincent.

“Our family and friends say we are bonkers, but it will be a great adventure and that is what the Round Table is really all about.”
