Free map of a ‘remarkable’ part of Diss
More than 8,000 free leaflets containing a map of the shops in the Diss Heritage Triangle are set to be available in the coming weeks in a bid to highlight what the town has to offer.
John Atkinson, owner of Fredrick’s Fine Foods and a member of the Heritage Traders, has helped put together the map, featuring more than 70 businesses, which it is hoped will be delivered via a mail drop to Diss and the surrounding villages.
Mr Atkinson said: “To promote this remarkable part of Diss it was decided that a map should be one of the first items developed showing all the local businesses.
“I was chosen because I have worked for many years as a designer, having my own business in London for more than 40 years and because I was the person on the Heritage Traders committee who had previous experience of putting something like this together and was willing to do it for the Traders who have no financial support for this kind of material.
“The map is very important to the heritage traders and Diss because it will make more people aware of what an hidden gem this unique shopping area in the heritage triangle is and increasing footfall will help keep alive the various businesses that occupy the heritage triangle.”
The map is due to be updated and reprinted yearly.
