Figures released on the number of Covid-19 deaths in Diss and surrounding villages
For the first time, data has been released on exactly where in the UK people who died from coronavirus are from, allowing people to measure the impact the virus has had on their own areas, down to every village and town.
New data showing a breakdown of where people who died with coronavirus between March 1 and April 17 are from has been released by the Office for National Statitisics (ONS) today.
The breakdown shows confirmed deaths where Covid-19 was the underlying cause or was mentioned on the death certificate as a contributory factor.
The number of deaths for Diss and the surrounding areas is as follows:
- East Harling, Garboldisham, and Kennighall - 1 death
- Long Stratton, Carlton Rode and Tibenham - 1 death
- Scole, Dickleburgh, and Bressigham - 1 death
- Diss and Roydon - 2 deaths
- Rickinghall, Walsham Le Willows, and Gislingham - 0 deaths
- Buckenhams and Snetterton - 0 deaths
- Eye, Palgrave, Occold - 1 deaths

The data can be viewed below.
The ONS said a small number of deaths were reallocated between neighbouring areas to protect confidentiality.
The figures exclude deaths of non-residents and are based on February 2020 boundaries.
Points on the map are placed at the centre of the local area they represent and do not show the actual location of deaths. The size of the circle is proportional to the number of deaths.
