Pulham Market's The Falcon pub closes its doors for the final time

The Falcon pub in Pulham Market has been forced to close its doors.

The pub had been run by Jonathan and Tina Foster since 2019, with the couple investing £40,000 in a bid to make the business a hit.

In a post on the pub’s Facebook page on Tuesday evening, they said: “Unfortunately, we have taken the difficult decision to close permanently. We would like to wish all of our customers well and thank them for their support over the last four years.

“We do not know what the future holds for The Falcon. We are sure the brewery will want it open again soon but we do not know any details on this.”

The pub, which is a Grade II-listed building and is located in the centre of the village, had been popular with visitors, with reviews on Facebook averaging five stars out of five.

In the run-up to Christmas, Mr and Mrs Foster had introduced numerous promotions in an effort to generate more custom, including free pool and free jukebox nights, live music, cheap roast dinners and discounted pints.

As recently as November, the pub was advertising for more staff.

In a separate post on Wednesday, the couple added: “We would like to thank everyone for their kind words. We wish you all well.

“We will be taking The Falcon page down today, so we just wanted to take this moment to thank those that have showed us their support over the last four years and thank them for the memories they have given us. Onwards and upwards.”

Mr and Mrs Foster, who kept the business afloat during the coronavirus pandemic by offering takeaway food, were approached for comment by the Diss Express.
