Eye Town Council election uncontested

The election at Eye Town Council will be uncontested this year.

All fifteen available spots have been filled by town residents, meaning people in Eye will not get a vote in the local election on Thursday, May 7.

Departures from the council include Linda Cummins, who served as town mayor in 2013/14, and was on the council for more than a decade.

Other councillors leaving their post include Merlin Carr, who enjoyed two stints as mayor, and Georgia Horobin.

Those newly appointed to the authority include Mick Smith, Mick Robins, and Klaus Gleissberg.
