Plans have been launched to ease traffic congestion on the A1066 through Diss.

A planning application, which would see an existing roundabout in Victoria Road increase in size and a new lane for traffic introduced, has now been submitted by Norfolk County Council.

Keith Kiddie, district and county councillor for Diss and Roydon, and now also deputy chairman of the county council, said: “This is a crucial element in the planned improvements for the traffic flow through Diss along the A1066. This application has my complete support.”

A compulsory purchase order for land, however, needs to be completed for plans to progress.
