Diss town council issues appeal to stop littering

Diss town council has issued an appeal for people to stop littering the town.

The council says the reoccurring problem is frustrating for maintenance staff who "work very hard to make sure council-owned sites are clean and tidy for residents to enjoy."

The images, highlighting the problem, were taken on the park near to the pavilion to shame individuals who did not use the bin provided right next to the shelter.

A council spokesman said: “Unfortunately, littering is a reoccurring problem in the town and is frustrating for our maintenance staff who work very hard to make sure council-owned sites are clean and tidy for residents to enjoy.

"It is a shame that these individuals could not place their rubbish in the empty litter bin right next to the shelter pod.
