Diss Tesco wants nominees for £1,000 ‘helping hand’
A supermarket in Diss is calling on local residents and shoppers to put forward their views on how a £1,000 support fund should be spent within the community.
The Tesco store based in Victoria Road launched the ‘Tesco Helping Hand’ initiative on Monday, asking people to nominate a local school, charity, organisation or group in the Diss area which they feel should receive a share of this fund in order to finance new or ongoing projects.
Garron Tungate, store manager at the Diss Tesco, said: “It is really important to us as a store that we play an active and supporting role in our local community and what better way to start the New Year than with an opportunity for our customers to tell us which organisations and projects they would like to see Tesco support in their area.
“If our shoppers know of any local organisations in need of some financial help towards the day-to-day running of their services, launching a new project, repair work or funding a particular campaign, we hope to hear from them.
“We urge our customers to come forward and nominate local organisations which deserve some extra support.”
To submit a nomination, customers can fill in a form in store and post it in the entry box provided.
