A community singing troupe based in Norfolk and Suffolk has raised almost £7,000 for East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA), following a series of memorial concerts last year, dedicated to one of its members who passed away.
Discord, which currently has more than 300 members across six groups in the Diss area, held nine charity concerts over eight months for the benefit of EAAA, to honour the memory of Ruth Goldsmith, a member of the Thetford singing group who died suddenly last year.
Group leader Michael Dann and several Discord members presented a cheque for £6,950 to the EAAA team on Friday, while receiving a tour of the aircraft from doctors and paramedics.
Mr Dann told the Diss Express: “I have to say the response from the members and the amount of money raised is incredible. We always sold out, so you could certainly say it went very well.
“They (EAAA) very much want to stay a charity. We hope our little bit will help. We want to try and help as many different charities as we can.
