Coronavirus Daily: Virus hospital admissions at lowest recorded number as Norfolk and Suffolk daily cases in single figures
The UK's Covid-19 testing co-ordinator, Professor John Newton, said at the daily briefing last night that admissions to UK hospitals for people with coronavirus were down to 471.
He said: "That is the lowest number of recorded number since we started collecting this data."
Health Secretary, Matt Hancock, who was in charge of the briefing also said that in the future there could also be local lockdowns in areas if the virus 'flared-up' again.
Yesterday's figures from Public Health England showed Norfolk had four daily positive cases over the last reported 24-hours, taking its total so far to 2,128, with Suffolk reporting three new cases, with total of 1,467.
The UK's daily figure for confirmed cases was 2,004 and the UK's daily deaths was 134.
