Coronavirus daily: UK daily deaths and positive cases figures see drops

Figures from Public Health England yesterday showed the number of COVID-19 associated UK deaths in hospitals recorded in the previous 24-hour period was 449, 147 less than the previous day and the lowest figure since April 6.

The amount of daily positive cases in the UK for the period had also seen a drop from 5,850 to 4,676.

The UK's total number of laboratory confirmed cases of coronavirus so far are 124,743.

In Norfolk, its total of reported positive cases had risen by 20, one of the smallest rises this month, to 997, with Suffolk seeing a larger rise of small rise of 38 cases to 618 to 656.

The total number of deaths in UK hospitals is now at 16,509.
