Coronavirus daily: Norfolk nears 1,000 confirmed cases so far as UK deaths see lowest figure for a fortnight

Figures from Public Health England yesterday showed the number of COVID-19 associated UK deaths in hospitals recorded in the previous 24-hour period was 596 – the lowest for 14 days.
The numbers also showed that the UK's total laboratory confirmed cases of coronavirus so far was 120,067.
In Norfolk, its total of reported positive cases had risen by 45 to 977, with Suffolk seeing a small rise of 18 cases to 618.
The amount of daily positive cases in the UK for the period had also seen a slight rise to 5,850.
England has now had 90,629 reported cases so far, with Scotland having 8,187, Wales with 7,270 and Northern Ireland with 2,645.
The total number of deaths in hospitals is 16,060.
