Diss church congregation ready to walk the walk for brain tumour charity

Members of the Diss Hope Church community have been raising money for charity in support of one of their own, who has a brain tumour.

The group are planning a 16-mile walk from Lowestoft pier to Southwold pier in July to raise money for The Brain Tumour Charity, and have already received more than £2,000 in donations.

Church member Matthew Naulls set up the charity walk for his friend Ben Rush, who recently had brain surgery following his diagnosis of having a brain tumour.

Mr Rush must now undergo radiotherapy and chemotherapy after the successful removal of the tumour, but remains positive according to the walk’s fundraising page, which said: “Ben’s faith and strength in God is simply amazing.

“He has been blessed with words and visions from God of what he has planned and we are all praying every day for our strong and miraculous God to heal Ben.”
