The Blossom Charity makes hundreds with kilo sale at The Hexagon in Eye
A fundraising sale tipped the scales in favour of a charity which supports people going through personal difficulties.
The Blossom Charity, which was founded by Bridget McIntyre in 2013, held a three-day clothes sale at The Hexagon in Eye on April 3, 4 and 5 – and it proved especially popular with buyers.
The event, which sold pre-loved clothes and items for £3 a kilo, helped to raise £700 for the charity, which is based in the town.
Justine Johnston, head of finance, said: “The sale was a great success.
“It was lovely to see some familiar faces, but also great to see some new ones, too, with people travelling a long way to see us.”
One lucky buyer even bagged themselves a wedding dress – for the bargain price of £6.
The money will enable the charity to fund 10 one-to-one coaching sessions, or five makeover days for women going through cancer treatment.
Mrs Johnston added: “We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who supported us with the sale, either by volunteering, helping set up and running the shop or by donating, and especially those who came along and spent their money with us.”
