A consultation event for a battery energy storage system has been postponed.

Field Yaxley Ltd (Field) is preparing a planning application to Mid Suffolk District Council for a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) site on land at the former Eye Airfield, Eye.

A public consultation for the system was due to be held between 2pm and 7pm at Yaxley Suffolk Village Hall, King George's Field, Old Ipswich Road, Yaxley, Eye.

However this has now been cancelled until further notice.

The BESS would provide up to 200 MW of electricity to create a greener and more stable grid.

This is expected to avoid up to 1.4 million tonnes of CO2e emissions during the first 20 years of operation.

Visit www.fieldyaxley.co.uk for updates on the project.

The consultation will be rescheduled at a date to be advised.
