Mayor of Attleborough Karen Pettitt capped off her year in office by presenting cheques totalling more than £3,000 to benefit two local groups.

Cllr Pettitt announced this week that £3,540 had been brought in across several fundraising events during her year as town mayor, with £1,770 being passed on to both Attleborough Football Club and ShootAbility, a target shooting range for disabled and able bodied people alike.

“This would not have been possible without the help and support of the people of Attleborough who supported the various fund raising events during the year,” said Cllr Pettitt, of Primrose Close.

“I know this money will be put to good use by both clubs and am pleased to have been able to have raised so much.

“I will continue to raise money for groups and clubs in Attleborough as I have done so for many years even though I will no longer be mayor.”

The outgoing mayor’s fundraising activities included working with the Attleborough Lions Club, who helped to build an additional firing range at ShootAbility to accommodate three people.

She also thanked the Rose of India, Rosedale Funeral Home, Attleborough Kebab & Pizza, Tony Perkins Butchers, G D Consult, Donna Kissinger Estate Agents, Ryes Bar & Grill and Breckland Lodge for their support with the fundraising.
