Diss Ukulele Day, at the Corn Hall, attracts enthusiasts from across the region

A day of music, workshops and performance celebrating the ukulele was a success at Diss Corn Hall on Saturday.

The annual Ukulele Day, which has been running since 2018, was organised by ukulele player Peter Arnold, of Bressingham, who said it was a ‘successful and enjoyable day’.

“Ukulele enthusiasts travelled from across the region and even further afield,” he said.

The day started with a Big Sing in the Corn Hall. After lunch there were two ukulele workshops, followed by an open mic in the courtyard.

“For the evening concert, Daisy and The Continentals were first up, with their infectious mix of jug band, ragtime cowboy swing music. Silver Linings followed, playing well-known pop covers from the 1960s to the present day,” said Peter.

“Our headline act The Hedge Inspectors blended comedy with superb musicianship to round off an excellent day's entertainment.”
