Ireland’s Call celebrates Celtic culture

A breadth of East Anglian performers will help celebrate Celtic culture in a hit production coming to Norwich Theatre Royal later this month.

Directed by Ged Graham, Ireland’s Call takes to the stage 100 years on from the country’s historic 1916 Easter Rising.

Inspired by true events and spanning three decades, this musical tells the story of Sean Dempsey who decides to take the tough decision to leave his Irish homeland and his childhood sweetheart Cora to try to make a new life in New York City.

Creative director Mr Graham said: “Everyone has been separated from loved ones and their homes at some point in their lives, so this is a story that people can really engage with and relate to, myself included.”

The performance of Ireland’s Call takes place on Sunday, March 27, at 7.30pm.

Tickets range between £7 and £23.50, with discounts available for Friends of Norwich Theatre Royal. To find out more, call 01603 630000.
