Farcical theatre

Charley’s Aunt, the first ever farce presented by touring company Roughcast Theatre, will bring the laughs to Garboldisham Village Hall next weekend, as part of the Diss Corn Hall On Tour programme of events.

Written by Brandon Thomas, the play focuses on two undergraduates in search of a chaperone for a visit from their girlfriends, both of whom they hope to propose to.

When the real aunt is delayed, they managed convince a fellow student to dress up and impersonate Charley’s rich aunt from Brazil, setting the stage for this comedic tale of love and deception.

Among the cast is Ben Willmott, a member of The Keepers Daughter based at Diss Corn Hall, who plays the aunt as well as Lord Fancourt Babberley.

The show is Saturday, March 25 at 7.30pm. Tickets are £9, or £7 for concessions. For info, call 01379 652241 or visit www.disscornhall.co.uk
