The 2015 Waveney Food and Drink Festival comes to its conclusion this weekend, as one of the headline events, the annual Eye Lids pie-baking competition makes its return.
Budding cooks of all ages are encouraged to bake their favourite pies, containing whatever fillings they wish and take it along to Eye Town Hall tomorrow between 10.30am and 11.15am.
Judging commences at approximately 11.30am, in categories for adults aged 16 years and over, and children aged 15 years and under, including sweet or savoury individual pie, three inches in diameter or above, as well as a sweet or savoury set of three pies under three inches in diameter.
There will also be a special class for pies linked to the First World War. Entry is 30p per class, and each category will have certificates for first, second and third place, with first winning a £10 cash prize.
This will be followed by an auction of pies for the Mayor’s Charity Fund, at 12.30pm.
