Conservation project to hold open day

More news, no ads

A wildlife conservation site near Diss is holding a free Open Day alongside its Smallholder Festival tomorrow, to coincide with the arrival of tadpole specimens from the UK’s rarest species of frog.

Blacksmiths Cottage Nursery, located in Langmere, has organised the event to enable people to hear about the conservation efforts to reintroduce the Pool Frog, following the launch of a collaboration between Blacksmiths and the neighbouring Shorelands Wildlife Gardens which aims to create a managed environment for the tadpoles in which a viable population can be established.

Those in attendance will also be able to join other talks and demonstrations about organic and wildlife gardening and beekeeping, in addition to stalls selling plants, food and crafts.

Entry is permitted free of charge. To find out any additional details, please contact 01379 741136 or alternatively send an email to b.potterton@shorelands.org.uk
