A charity dog walk event, now in its 21st year, will be held on New Year’s Day to raise funds for Help for Heroes.

The 2015 edition of Fressingfield’s New Year Sponsored Dog Walk is a five-mile circular route, suitable for all ages for those with or without a dog.

This year participants are set to be joined by a small herd of miniature donkeys, at least two horses, and regular fixture, Fressingfield’s resident llama, Clarence.

Organiser Carol Wyatt said: “It is hard to believe we have been dog walking for charity every New Year’s Day for 21 years. We expect quite a few of our supporters who haven’t missed a walk in all that time to help us celebrate.

“Once again we have chosen to support Help for Heroes. All the sponsorship funds are used to provide facilities and support for British servicemen and women who have been injured in the service of our country.”

The 10.30am event starts and finishes, at the Fressingfield Swan Inn where free hot soup and bread is served to those who take part.

The walk has raised more than £60,000 over the years.
