A special tour by renowned British folk-rock band The Levellers combining a live performance with a showing of their new documentary arrives in Bury St Edmunds towards the end of the month.

The show, taking place at The Apex Theatre on Wednesday, February 25, will begin with a screening of ‘A Curious Life’, a film spanning the career and lives of the band members, before they take to the stage for a live concert with acoustic renditions of many songs from their recent Greatest Hits album, plus others from their 27-year history.

Told from the unique perspective of the group’s bassist, Jeremy Cunningham, the documentary follows the success of The Levellers between 1988 and 1998, before their decline and subsequent resurgence a few years later.

Director Dunstan Bruce describes ‘A Curious Life’ as “a potted journey through 25 years of subsidised dysfunctionalism; an uplifting tale of battling demons that reminds us that behind every band there is a story of struggle for expression, acceptance and survival.”
