James Wilson departs Diss Town for Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division side Great Yarmouth Town
Right-back James Wilson turned down interest from ‘several clubs’ to join Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division outfit Great Yarmouth Town from Diss Town.
Wilson joined the Brewers Green Lane outfit in September 2023 and made 32 appearances for the Tangerines, scoring six goals as an attack-minded defender in Garth Good’s side, and helped them to an eighth-placed finish in the First Division North last term.
He joins a newly-promoted team who have made a flying start to life in the Premier Division, sitting eighth in the standings after 10 games.
On his departure from Diss, Wilson, on X, wrote: “Great club and thank you to all involved for making me feel welcome, and for helping me enjoy football again.”
The Tangerines posted: “We would like to thank James Wilson for all his efforts over the past season-and-a-bit and wish him all the best for the future.”
Writing on their new arrival, the Bloaters posted: “We are delighted to announce the signing of James Wilson, who has chosen to join the Bloaters despite interest from several other clubs.
“James is an excellent addition to the group and we are excited to have him on board.
“Welcome to the Bloaters, James.”
