VIDEO: Reeve proud despite semi-final defeat

Diss Town manager Mark Reeve hailed the effort of his players despite being eliminated from the Norfolk Senior Cup following a 3-1 defeat to higher-league Dereham Town.

The Ryman League Division One North promotion-chasers looked on course for a comfortable evening when Liam Wales opened the scoring after just five minutes but the Tangerines struck back six minutes later through Matt Dixon’s header.

However, the home side finally showed their pedigree as a second from Wales before the interval, and a headed third from Craig Bussens after the break, finally wrapped up the Magpies’ place at the showpiece final at Norwich City’s Carrow Road.

Diss will now have to turn their attentions back to a relegation battle in the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division, where they sit 11 points adrift of safety ahead of hosting high-flying Stanway Rovers on Saturday (3pm).
