Bury Town boss Ben Chenery is hoping to include a new striker in his squad for the trip to Tonbridge Angels.

The as yet unnamed young front man has previously played for Lowestoft Town and Horsham and was set to take part in training with the Blues last night with a view to agreeing a deal to take him into next season.

“He is hungry to play and has plenty of experience from this level, so we will see,” said Chenery, who has admitted financially his hands are tied with the club having made the decision to slash the playing budget with relegation from the Ryman League Premier Division looking inevitable, despite Saturday’s surprise win over Metropolitan Police.

Bury go into tomorrow’s game (3pm) 13 points from safety with a 21 points available from seven games, but looking to complete their second double, with their 2-1 win on October 25 the last time they took three points at home before Saturday.

But they have a host of senior players still out, withJohn Kennedy (suspended), Connor Hall, Phil Weavers and Jordan Patrick (injured) all missing.

Captain Seb Dunbar (hamstring) should return though, with Team Bury youngsters Ryan Jolland and Tanner Call called up.

n Bury Town will be holding a fans’ forum at Ram Meadow with manager Ben Chenery answering questions along with a player and director on Tuesday, March 31. Tickets, limited to 50, will be available by calling the club on 01284 754721 or emailing michelle@burytownfc.co.uk from 10am on Tuesday.
