Snetterton is set to end the racing season with a bang

Snetterton is gearing up for a spectacular end to the season this weekend, with a two-day family fun event featuring racing, fireworks and live music.

Track action will include the Duo BRDC Formula 4 Autumn Trophy, which will see the historic debut of the championship’s new car.

The Autumn Trophy will feature both new and current F4 drivers racing the Tatuus-designed car for the first time.

Built from F1-style carbon fibre, it is more powerful than the outgoing car and has already lapped Snetterton several seconds quicker in testing, making this one of the fastest races of the year at the Norfolk circuit.

The car has proven to be a hit, with new teams and promising young drivers set to join the championship.

There will be four BRDC F4 Autumn Trophy races over the weekend, with two on each day. The championship will be joined by action from the KICK Start Energy Ginetta Junior Winter Series for 14-17-year-old drivers, Dunlop Mini 7 Challenge Invitation Races for classic Minis and the MSVR All-Comers race, which is open to saloons and sportscars.

There will also be a host of family-themed activities on the Sunday. Throughout the day there will be bouncy castles and a playground to keep younger race-goers amused, and once the racing has finished upcoming Diss-based band Walkway will be delivering a dynamic rock show fronted by brothers Chris Ready and James Ready, Alex Rosedale and Joe Evans.

The band has supported Status Quo as well as The Darkness, and will be playing a mixture of classic rock covers, plus tracks from their two albums, which have had national airplay on BBC Radio 2.

The day will end in style with a fireworks display at approximately 5pm, and the spectacular light show will light up the autumn sky, bringing the curtain down on another superb season at the Norfolk circuit.

Tickets for the DUO BRDC Formula 4 Autumn Trophy and Fireworks at Snetterton, starting tomorrow, are available in advance for £10, with free admission to under-13s.
