Scole grab bragging rights with derby delight
Scole United Under-11s grabbed the bragging rights over rivals Norwich Corinthians with a 1-0 away win to extend their lead at the top of the table, in our match of the week.
The visitors started strongly with Ewan Johnson and Joseph Boardman both going close before Brad Potter eventually opened the scoring after 22 minutes following a quick counter attack.
The second proved a tighter affair with Alfie Cobbold, Mackenzie Manning and goalkeeper Alfie Chenery proving in top form to ensure Scole held on for the victory under late pressure.
n There was less joy for Diss Town Under-15s who suffered a heavy 4-2 defeat at home against Needham.
After falling three goals behind, Diss rallied with Dan Whyman and Chris Disney reducing the deficit. However, Needham added a fourth to seal victory.
n Diss Town Under-14s succumbed to a 7-2 defeat away at Stradbroke Youth. Having got themselves level through Charlie Bowen, Diss found themselves 4-1 down at the interval.
Alex Chittock, Leo Abrey, Ralph Slaney and Aidan Boosey found themselves under further pressure after the break as Stradbroke added a fifth before Jack Burrows pulled a goal back.
However, there was further misery for goalkeeper Charlie Crawford as Stradbroke scored twice more.
n Diss Hawks Under-13s saw their hopes of reaching the league cup final ended after a thrilling 4-3 second-leg defeat away at Brandon.
Having lost the first leg 3-1, Hawks’ task was made even harder as Brandon scored two quickfire goals, before Nathan Channell pulled one back.
Diss continued to fightback with Oliver Lee scoring twice but Brandon ensured their place in the final with two goals.
n Diss Town Under-11s eased their way to a comfortable 3-0 win over Rocklands courtesy of goals from William Cunningham (two) and Tyler Noller. There was also impressive displays from Matthew Munnings, Will Beale, Alfie Marsham, Samuel Cox, Miles Holliday, Dylan Gardiner, Alex Dunseith and Kuba Boryczka.
