Former Mildenhall Town, Norwich United and Diss Town defender Charlie Hitch returns to Harleston Town

Harleston Town have announced the first signing of Danny Crow's tenure as manager.

The former Norwich City and Cambridge United frontman has got his summer transfer business under way with the addition of Charlie Hitch.

The right-back made his debut in senior men's football for Harleston before going on to have spells with the likes of Diss Town, Norwich United and most recently Mildenhall Town.

Last season Hitch made a total of 27 appearances for Mildenhall as they finished third in the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division, from which he scored three goals.

The defender was part of the Harleston side that got their pre-season friendly schedule under way last night with a 1-1 draw at Halesworth.

Ryan Crisp was on target for Harleston against the Macron Suffolk & Ipswich League Senior Division outfit.

Crow's men will be back in friendly action on Saturday at home against Fakenham Town (3pm).
