Reeve’s side now pose a real threat
Diss Town manager Mark Reeve has warned the rest of the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division that his side are now a tougher prospect to face ahead of a trip to promotion-chasing Godmanchester Rovers tomorrow (3pm).
The Tangerines have somewhat surprisingly emerged as one of the league’s form sides in recent weeks having lost just once in the previous eight matches to greatly enhance their chances of survival.
A 1-0 win over rivals Walsham-le-Willows on Saturday was a second success in the space of three weeks as the Brewers Green Lane-based outfit bounced back from a disappointing 4-1 defeat to Brantham Athletic.
And with his side now seven points adrift of safety, Reeve is confident of more than holding their own against second-placed Rovers.
“We are certainly a different prospect to the team that got beaten regularly previously in the season,” he said. “Let’s be honest, we didn’t even look in the same division to some teams before, some were miles ahead of us.
“However, I don’t think that the case now and hopefully we can show that we can compete against the top sides.
“We must be close to one of the in-form teams and the squad will be confident of going into the game and competing.”
