Peter ‘Snakebite’ Wright remains one point clear at the summit of the Betway Premier League standings thanks to his 7-4 win over Dave Chisnall last night.

The Mendham ace certainly looked the part in Rotterdam, with his orange mohawk matching the majority of the 10,000-strong sell-out crowd at The Ahoy Arena.

It proved to be a relatively straightforward outing for the world number three, who took leads of 2-0 and 7-4 before seeing the game out.

Nevertheless, Wright was not overly impressed by his display.

“It wasn’t a great performance but it’s two points and you’ll take that against Dave because he’s a powerful scorer,” he said.

“The crowd were amazing and it was fantastic to play in front of a crowd like that because I loved it.

“It was incredible when they sang my name. It’s a shame I didn’t put on more of a show for them but I got the win.”

Next Thursday, Wright will take on Peter Taylor at The Manchester Arena.
