Palgrave school wins tag rugby tournament

A team of year 4, 5 and 6 boys and girls from Palgrave Primary School won the tag rugby tournament held at Thomas Mills High School, Framlingham last week.

They competed against 14 other teams from schools across East Anglia to come out with the top prize.

After four qualifying rounds, they managed to beat Stonham Aspal in the semi-final and then overcame Sir Robert Hitcham School in the final.

Reflecting on the success, teacher Will Munday said: “It was great to see the children from a small school competing in a tournament and doing so well.

“All the staff and pupils are very proud of our rugby champions.

“Some parents reported that their children had been so excited they went to bed wearing their medals!”
