London and Norwich trips prove successful for Diss Otters
Diss Otters were in top form at the iconic London Aquatic Centre last weekend.
The Otters took a squad of 17 swimmers to the venue – which was constructed for the 2012 Olympic Games – for a match up against a total of 26 clubs from London and the south east of the country.
And they came away with an impressive return of 46 medals from just 105 swims, 16 of which were of the gold variety.
The squad also picked up 15 silvers and 15 bronze, which together with 41 new personal best times, ensured that it was a memorable trip to the Olympic Park.
Meanwhile, closer to home at the UEA Sportspark, 10 of the Otters’ development swimmers featured in the City of Norwich Swimming Club-hosted Long Course Gala.
And like their counterparts in London, it proved to be another successful outing for the club.
From a total of 46 swims, 38 new personal bests were set – a return of 82 per cent.
There was also the bonus of a silver medal for Donald Perrin in the 50m freestyle for nine year olds.
