Diss Otters Swimming Club celebrate at their annual presentation evening

Diss Otters Swimming Club celebrated a successful year in the pool with their annual presentation evening at Hope Church.

A host of medals, trophies and certificates were presented to all of the swimmers who took part in the Otters’ Club Championships, which took place in the autumn of last year.

There were also special awards presented by the club’s coaching staff to the Top Boy and Top Girl swimmers, which were won by Callum Blair and Rosie Munnings respectively.

Meanwhile, Harry Daly scooped the Most Improved Boy accolade with team-mate Isabella St John Clarke being selected as the Most Improved Girl.

There was also an extra award for the Boys’ captain Matthew Tatum, who collected the Chairman’s Cup for Gallantry from Juliette Grimes.

Twenty-eight of the club’s swimmers have now switched their attention to the Norfolk County Championships, which take place during the rest of this month and in to February at the Norwich-based UEA Sportspark’s 50m pool.

Later next month Otters are set to feature at the Warwick Thompson Memorial Gala in Thetford before returning to UEA for the City of Norwich March Long Course Gala.
