Old Buckenham Cricket Club get restarted with inter-club matches

After more than a nine-month hiatus, the welcome sound of a match day could be heard at the Horry Panks Cricket Ground in Old Buckenham on Saturday.

The Norfolk side had anticipated their 2020 season getting under way in April, but the Covid-19 lockdown forced a delay.

However, following the loosening of restrictions by the government and the issuing of safety guidelines from the England & Wales Cricket Board, recreational cricket was given the green light at the weekend.

Old Buckenham marked the occasion with some inter-club encounters involving players from their three adult sides and members of the junior section.
