Old Buckenham record first Norfolk Cricket Alliance Premier Division victory since promotion over Garboldisham
Old Buckenham (256-8) recorded their first victory of the new Norfolk Cricket Alliance Premier Division season thanks to last weekend’s two-wicket triumph at Garboldisham (255-6).
Having won the toss and put their hosts into bat first, the stand-out bowler for Old Buckenham was Glen Meredith.
He recorded figures of 3-41 from 10 overs, while Joshua Rowe top scored for Garboldisham with an unbeaten 60 runs from only 36 deliveries.
Meredith then went on to score 44 runs – as did Rishu Sharma – during the away side’s run chase, while Ben Baldwin (52) top scored with a half century.
And despite Tarryck Gabriel taking 2-53, Joel Meredith (8 not out) and Robert Goodwin (1 not out) got their side over the winning line.
Fourth-placed Garboldisham will aim to bounce back at the first time of asking on Saturday when they travel to face a Bradfield side that sit seventh.
Eighth-placed Old Buckenham, meanwhile, will go in search of consecutive victories when they play host to table-topping North Runcton (both 12pm).
The visitors have won all four of their matches this term to open up a 17-point advantage over second-placed Fakenham.
