Norwich City fan Edward Seaman thinks a defensive reshuffle is needed ahead of Holt’s return

I think the overriding emotion following Saturday’s win at Wigan, only City’s second since September, was relief.

In the week leading up to the match, Neil Adams had to face a lot of questions about his future and in all honesty, the relationship between the fans, players and management was becoming uncomfortable.

Jonny Howson’s goal was enough on the day, and he is a player who deserves some serious praise as for me, as he is the one beginning to drag City forward.

Howson excels when he is given a more advanced midfield role, and three goals in his last four games backs that up.

There is no doubt in my mind that he is a Premier League player and it was no coincidence that when Howson was injured over the festive period last season, results began to dip.

However, this is not to say one win makes it all better again — City need to build momentum, starting with tomorrow’s match against Huddersfield.

With a number of teams above us facing each other, it gives us a chance to close the gap that has built up over recent weeks.

The visit of Huddersfield could see the return to Carrow Road of Grant Holt, and City’s defenders will have to stand up to the physical challenge we know the big man brings.

For me, that means moving Russell Martin back to right-back, and bringing in Michael Turner to partner Carlos Cuéllar at centre-back.

Momentum is a word used a lot by managers and with Wes Hoolahan and Ryan Bennett closing in on returning from injury, it is time to push on.

With the busy festive period coming up, City will need to use the big squad we possess, something which may hopefully give us an advantage over our rivals.

Three points on Saturday would give us our first back-to-back wins since beating Cardiff and Brentford in early September, so let’s get behind the boys at Carrow Road and sing them on to victory.
