The 25-year-old, who missed out on the event last year, goes into the meeting 14th in the standings.

“I am buzzing to get the weekend started at Snetterton,” he said.

“We had a really good test and I think we have a good starting point for free practice and some ideas on what we need to work on next.

“The start of the season hasn’t been as I had expected, but I think we have made good steps forward now and the laps we did at the test just seemed to come.

“I put a lot of pressure on myself this year. I missed out on the Showdown last year and I didn’t want it to happen again, but I feel more relaxed ahead of Snetterton.

“It has been quite a mixed start to the season for everyone to be fair and although we are 14th in the championship ahead of the weekend, but two good races can jump you straight back up the order and into the top eight because it is that close.

“I want to go to Snetterton and bring home two trophies – no excuses because we need to be back at the front and fighting.”

The event features two headline Bennetts BSB races on Sunday, plus a full support programme throughout the weekend including Pirelli National Superstock 600 and 1000 and Dickies British Supersport.
