Diss-Waveney Petanque Club had to settle for a share of the spoils in their top-of-the-table clash against The Hunters of Strumpshaw as the sides played out a 53-53 draw.

In the triples Dave Marsh, Steve Batt and Kao Sun lost 13-8 but Roger True, Malcolm Butcher and Trevor Forder secured a 13-9 win.

Sun and Forder then suffered a 13-6 defeat in the first doubles encounter but Marsh and Batt won 13-10 and True and Butcher won 13-8 to bring the scores level.

The result leaves Diss-Waveney top of Division Three of the Norfolk Petanque League with The Hunters in second.

n The club are offering free taster sessions on Monday evenings at Diss Town Football Club’s Brewers Green Lane (6.30pm), while practice sessions are on Wednesdays (2pm) and Saturdays (10.30am).

Sessions cost £1 per 
person with membership costing £15 for an adult couple and £10 for a single adult.
