Attleborough Boxing Club are gearing up for the biggest show in their history with a crowd in excess of 600 expected for their Glory Road Boxing Show tomorrow night, writes Alex Moss.
Between 15 and 20 bouts are expected to take place under a marquee at Wymondham Rugby Club this weekend, with the likes of Sergio Gugliotta, Mikey Jordan and national champion Santiago Weaver all in action.
Attleborough’s chairman, Colin Kilby, is looking forward to a memorable night when the club host their first ever show in Wymondham.
“It’s going to be the biggest show we’ve put on,” he said. “We’re putting on as many as 20 bouts with boxers of all ages and we’re looking at possibly doubling our biggest ever crowd, which was around 300 to 350.
“I don’t know if the kids boxing are nervous, excited or buzzing. I’m guessing it will be a mixture of emotions, but I’m looking forward to seeing the youngsters enjoying the experience of boxing in front of a large crowd for the first time.
“The youngsters who are up and coming all work hard. They’re in the gym three, four or five times a week.”
“We’ve always wanted to go to the Wymondham area and this is a good opportunity to showcase Attleborough Boxing Club and the talent we’ve got.”
