Retro Kings, a new high-octane event involving displays and demonstrations is set for its debut show at Snetterton race track on Sunday (9am).
The nostalgic theme includes the Classic and Retro Time Attack series for modified classics, with a wide variety of machinery expected to hit the track.
The series is open to fondly-remembered cars from the past, including customised 60s roadsters, 70s heroes such as the Ford Escorts and Capris, to 80s hot hatches.
They will also be joined by entries from the Monoposto Racing Club for historic single seater racing cars, and all drivers will be competing against the clock for the best time around the 200 circuit.
The series’ modern counterpart, Time Attack Championship, will also be at the event, with a mixture of highly-modified machines being driven to their limits.
Visitors can join in the fun with a retro sprint competition, open to all cars built before 1995, and all cars are eligible for public track time sessions throughout the day.
These can be booked at www.retrokings.co.uk
Other high speed thrills include demonstrations of classic Formula 1 and jet cars, a motorcycle stunt show, and a display of classic drag racers.
Off-track entertainment includes a huge display of retro and classic cars from owners and clubs, a show-and-shine competition, a trade village and children’s entertainment.
Tickets cost £12 with free entry for under-13s. For more information call 0843 453 9000 or visit www.snetterton.co.uk.
