At Diss Angling Club’s Sunday match at the Mere, Andrew Mears drew the top peg 30 and did not disappoint with a weight of 18lb 3oz.

Wilby had set out for silvers from the start and ended up with 15lb 4oz from peg 1. Ricky Leggett was third fishing the feeder from peg 37.

The first Vets’ Tuesday match took place at Hinderclay lakes where a close match was expected.

With only 1lb 2oz separating the top three, Roy Johnson took top spot with a weight of 12lb 1oz finishing 4oz ahead for Dordy Wilby in second while third place went to Jimmy Ellis with 11lb 8oz.

The second Vets’ match was held last week at Yaxley where Roy Elsom took first place with 19lb 2oz which included 14lb of Roach.

Second place went to Billy Crisp and Dordy Wilby was third with 12lb.

The club had two pike matches over the past two Saturdays and they were dominated by Colin Lea, who won both matches with weights of 17lb 13oz and 26lb 14oz.

The biggest of the pike caught was just over 10lb.

Billy Crisp finished second in both matches and Dordy Wilby was third in both - both catching Pike, but some of the smaller ones in the river.
