Only nine birds made it home from 60 sent by eight members from Diss and District Racing Pigeon Club to Poitiers in France as rain at the home end made it a tough day of racing.
Of those, Steven Kaschner’s arrived home with the quickest speed, taking first place with a velocity of 1,177 yards per minute.
Brian Meen, officially now a club member, took second position while Graham Seaman was third and fourth with Andrew Daniels fifth and George and James Burrows sixth.
Difficult conditions also resulted in a hard race for nearly 200 birds the club sent to Maidstone, not liberated until 2pm.
Andrew Daniels won for the second week in a row with Kathy Terry from Gipping in second place. John and Lee Curtis were third with Steven Kaschner taking fifth, sixth and seventh places.
