Framlingham Flyers were represented by eight of its members at Sunday’s Stowmarket Half Marathon, with Adam Howlett showing particularly impressive form.
The high winds made it a tricky assignment for the competitors, but that did not deter Howlett on his way to becoming the first man over the age of 45 to complete the course.
He finished 10th overall, while club-mate Peter Russell ran his fastest half marathon since 2000 and finished second in the men’s over 65 category.
On top of that, as this race was part of the County Half Marathon Championship, both Howlett and Russell were winners in their respective age categories.
The Flyers’ team was completed by Chris Leek, Ian Kennedy, Jamie Payne, Emma Goodman, James Bouldin and Jo Parden.
