Colin Lea bagged the top weight of 28lb 8oz in Diss Anglian Club’s Veterans’ match at Yaxley.

He found carp on the far side of the lake at peg 19 with lone pole along the edge of the reeds close in on corn and soft pellet to 4lb.

Keith Rodwell (11lb 15oz) came second and on the near side of the lake had two carp to 4lb, plus roach and small perch on caster on short pole.

Dave Shearing (11lb 10oz) had three carp with roach on corn and pellet against the reeds on pole.

In the Friday match at Bergh Apton though, Shearing finished top of the pile with a catch of 34lb 4oz.

After a slow start, he soon had carp to 7lb on corn and loose fed maggot on lone pole.

Bill Atkins (30lb 5oz) was second and George Wilby (24lb 4oz) third.

At Eye Ponds on Sunday, Jimmy Ellis bagged 18lb 10oz to take the match win.

On the skimmer pond he took small carp to 3lb plus skimmers and small roach and chub on short pole with corn and maggot.

Ashley Eames (7lb 4oz) was second and Steve Edwards (4lb 10oz) third.
