In an all Harleston Magpies affair, the Ladies III’s and IV’s settled for a share of the spoils in Empresa Norfolk League Premier Division in a 1-1 draw.
The thirds took the lead in the first half through Catherine Kilbourn, only for the fourth’s to equalise after the interval through Kathryn Bullen.
Elsewhere, in East Men’s League Division Five North East, Harleston Magpies Men’s V proved no match for the experienced Norwich Exiles, as they slumped to an eventual 4-0 defeat having held their opponents to a goalless draw at half-time.
Meanwhile the Ladies’ firsts kicked off their National Premier Indoor League campaign with mixed fortunes.
After going down 6-2 to Slough in their opening encounter, Magpies clinched a vital 4-3 win over East Grinstead with an Emma Lee-Smith hat-trick being added to by Sarah Brook.
The following day proved more difficult, with a 6-2 loss to Cantebury following a 3-1 defeat to Bowdon Hightown.
Harleston resume action early next year when they face Clifton, Sutton Coldfield, Reading and University of Birmingham.
There was cause for the celebration for the club as the men’s first team retained their Eastern Indoor title, winning the round robin event at Oaklands College in St Albans.
On their way to overall victory, they beat St Albans 5-3, Old Loughtonians 6-5, West Herts 10-4 and City of Peterborough 10-5.
