Saloon Stock Car drivers from Diss will be in action at King’s Lynn’s Adrian Flux Arena tomorrow, competing for the Bumper Trophy (6pm).
National champion David Aldous and Deane Mayes, second in the national points standings, will both be gunning for glory.
The hard-hitting action served up by the two-litre saloon stock cars is second to none, with large turnouts and excellent racing at each and every meeting. With additional prize money funded by generous sponsorship, the Bumper Trophy has attracted an excellent field including a few newcomers.
“Every meeting in East Anglia and in the formula in general seems to be pretty good at the minute,” said Aldous, “but Kevin Wickham works hard to get all the sponsors together and it’s become one of the look-forward-to meetings of the year at Lynn.
“Sometimes it doesn’t get put on a prime date but we all seem to get round and turn it into a cracking meeting.”
Aldous will start as favourite as he looks set to clinch his sixth consecutive points championship at the West Norfolk shaleway.
Also in action will be the micro mangers who contest their UK Championship final, while the title of King of the Fens is up for grabs in the two-litre (non-Mondeo) bangers.
