Magpies feature at Langley event
Harleston Magpies Hockey Club were part of the Langley School’s open morning in Loddon late last month, sending 30 under 12 youngsters there for a coaching masterclass and some game play.
The relationship between the two institutions continues to grow with Langley School sharing facilities, players and coaching staff wherever possible.
Langley School’s open morning is now a regular fixture in Magpies youth calendar, giving all of the club’s youngsters the chance to dust off their hockey sticks and play some competitive, yet friendly, matches and get some extra coaching in.
Langley head of hockey and Magpies youth coach Stuart Field said: “It was a fantastic start to the season for our under-12s, who all enjoyed a few games in the sunshine against Magpies.
The partnership is going from strength to strength and continues to encourage school children to play club hockey as well as enabling both Langley and Magpies to share facilities, providing specialist coaching opportunities and a base at Langley for the hockey club to do indoor training.”
l Harleston Magpies youth hockey coaching is well under way.
The hockey club has capacity for more youth players across the age ranges from Year 2 upwards. You can get involved by emailing youthenquiries@magpies-hockey.co.uk.
