Ipswich Town column: Kieran McKenna’s side needed two-week break ahead of Hull City, Coventry City and Huddersfield Town matches

A missed opportunity, or a point gained? I guess we'll find out at the end of the season, but I for one was slightly disappointed Town weren't able to beat either Watford or Middlesbrough, especially after Leeds and Leicester seem to be doing all they can to hand us promotion!

That said, at least we didn't lose and thank goodness Václav Hladký was on hand to save us, with a couple of absolutely huge stops - genuinely two of the best I've ever seen at Portman Road.

So let's take the positive and enjoy a much-needed couple of weeks off. Town have looked tired in recent weeks and, as I and many others have said, I really do think a break could be huge in our promotion bid.

A trip to Hull awaits, then Coventry away the following Tuesday. It's all feeling slightly like April last year, isn't it? Weirdly, I don't fear the trips to Hull and Coventry as much as I do Huddersfield at home on the final day.

‘Seriously?’ You might ask. Well, Town have proven both this season and the last, that when it comes to crunch matches away from home, against teams who like to attack, it can often suit them and I can see that being the case here.

I fancy us and I've got a feeling we may see another performance like Barnsley away last season.

Win those two, or even one, and you'd like to think Town will then be fully in the driving seat for a return to Premier League football.

Huddersfield worries me though. A rugged, resolute side who are likely to need some kind of points to stay in the division. You can just see how that one's going to go, can't you?

Who knows what is going to happen, but for what it's worth, I think we might do it. This group have given us so many precious moments over the last year or so and I think they have what it takes to give us another.

A remarkable season, a remarkable football club, but it isn't over yet. So, rest up lads and get ready for one final push. Up the Town.
